Psychotherapy is a general term for treating mental health problems by talking with a psychiatrist, psychologist or other mental health provider. During psychotherapy, you learn about your feelings, thoughts and behaviors.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based treatment approach that is effective in treating a range of disorders, including depressive and anxiety illnesses. Our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are intimately connected.  The premise of CBT is that if we alter the way we think, we can alter the way we feel.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is an offshoot of CBT and has 4 principles, including mindfulness; interpersonal effectiveness; distress tolerance; and emotion regulation.  This treatment modality is helpful for a host of life challenges.

In Brief Psychotherapy, a patient presents with a specific goal to target.  We work together as a team to problem solve and meet the specified goal over a period of weeks to a few months.

Intuition is a gift bestowed upon everyone, whether we utilize it or not.  In an intuitive psychotherapy approach, one learns to tap into their own inner wisdom to problem solve, and to find balance and harmony in their lives.
